Our History

More than 300 years ago, Velandi Vaidyar, one of their ancestors, caught a fish from the field. He cleaned the fish and wrapped the pieces in leaves from a nearby tree. When he unwrapped the leaves upon reaching home in the evening, he was amazed to find that the fish pieces had merged, with the cutting marks completely vanished. This is the legend behind the famous Muttikulangara oil.

The oil is prepared by combining various medicinal plants and raw herbal ingredients in pure coconut oil. This centuries-old sacred knowledge has been entrusted through generations, from Velandi Vaidyar to his grandson Kunchan Vaidyar, followed by Raman Vaidyar and later Karunakaran Vaidyar. For over seventy years, Karunakaran Vaidyar dedicated his inherited medical legacy to society, tutoring his eldest son, K.K. Ramakrishnan Vaidyar, in the techniques from a young age. After the passing of Shri K.R. Karunakara Vaidyar, this legacy was carried forward by K.K. Ramakrishnan Vaidyar, benefiting countless individuals worldwide. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s words, “Service to humanity is service to God,” Ramakrishnan Vaidyar, along with his son Karun and daughter-in-law Dr. Arya, continues to serve society with unwavering dedication.
